OUR COMPANION POLICY
In order to assist the patient during treatment and care; the patient’s right and practice to have a companion is available in our hospital, to the extent permitted by the legislation, the facilities of our hospital and the patient’s health condition, depending on the approval of the doctor in charge of treatment. It is our basic policy to realise this application in accordance with the determined procedures and principles.
In terms of the health and happiness of our patients, we would like to emphasise that you should help us on the subject and accompany your patient in accordance with the procedures and principles determined within the framework of our hospital’s accompanying policy.
CHAPERONE RULES:
- The need for a chaperone is decided by the patient’s doctor.
- Accompanying person is limited to one person. If deemed appropriate by the doctor, a second companion may stay depending on the patient’s condition.
- Considering the health of children, visitors under 12 years of age should not be brought.
- Companions should not use the patient’s belongings for their own and the patient’s health and should not sit on the patient’s beds.
- The accompanying person is required to place their belongings in the lockers shown in the clinic. Responsible for keeping the patient room tidy. The companion must firstly use the patient’s room, bathroom and toilets cleanly.
- The attendants are obliged to look after the patients under the instructions of the physicians and to observe the discipline of the institution.
- In our hospital, breakfast is served at 06.30-07.00, lunch at 12.00-13.00, and dinner at 18.00-18.30 in your room.
- The rules of patient care education given by nurses must be followed. (Hand hygiene, fall risk, isolation rules training etc.)
- The ward nurses should be informed about the change of companions.
- Accompanying persons should not take their patients out of the ward or change their bed unless the relevant physician or nurse requests it.
- Companions should not bring food or drink to the patient without permission and should not give any food or drink to the patient without consulting the physician or nurse.
- Accompanying persons cannot perform any application to the patient without the knowledge and approval of the physician and nurse.
- It is recommended that the accompanying person is physically and mentally capable of accompanying.
- Accompanying persons should keep hospital belongings and materials tidy and clean.
- Companions are responsible for the storage and protection of the patient and their personal belongings.
- An attendant who damages hospital property is obliged to compensate for the damage.
- Companions can use the companion chairs in the patient rooms to rest.
- Companions are not allowed to use tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol etc. in the hospital. They cannot use substances, and those who use them will be prosecuted in accordance with the Law No. 4207 on the Prevention and Control of Harms of Tobacco Products.
- Companions should inform the nurse when there is any problem with their patients.
- Accompanying persons are required to leave the patient rooms when necessary (during rounds, when the patient is to be intervened, etc.).
- Accompanying persons must inform the patient’s relatives of any visit ban imposed by the patient’s doctor.
- It is necessary to comply with the warning and warning signs in the health facility and to inform the nurse in charge of the service when a technical problem is encountered.
- You can send your opinions, suggestions, thanks and complaints to the ‘Patient Rights Unit’ or you can submit them in writing via the questionnaire forms in the areas.
- In case of emergency, hospital evacuation areas and emergency exit signs are shown on each floor.
- In order to provide you with a peaceful environment, patients and their relatives should not speak loudly in the patient room and ward corridors and should not disturb the staff and other patients. In addition, it will be appropriate to use the televisions in your rooms in a way not to disturb others and to switch them off during doctor’s rounds and after 24:00. Television remote control, etc. In-room materials should be left in place when leaving the patient room.
- Accompanying persons must comply with hospital rules in general. In case of violation, the accompaniment status of the person concerned will not be recognised.
- When you encounter a suspicious situation or person, you must inform the relevant service supervisor and ask for help from security guards.
- We love our beloved pawed friends; however, in accordance with the quality of the health service we provide and international patient safety standards, we would like to state that pets are not allowed to enter our institution. Thank you for your understanding.
